About
Profiles And Bio’s For The Attorneys At Gatlin Voelker, PLLC
April Gatlin
In representing clients, my first and foremost mindset is to treat you as I would want to be treated. This means giving you the respect, privacy, honesty, and expertise you deserve during my zealous representation of your important legal matter. Whether it is a simple will or complex litigation, I will always bring my best to the table.

I grew up on a dairy farm in Central Kentucky, where I learned from my parents the satisfaction gained from a hard day’s work. I was given daily chores and expected to take charge of those tasks.
Everyone in the family was expected to “step up to the plate” when extra time was needed with certain seasonal tasks. I learned it is important to do your job competently and with a winning attitude, especially when others are looking to you for support in whatever area that might be.
This is applicable in the practice of law because not many consult an attorney for something they feel they want to take on by themselves. They are looking to their attorney for guidance and knowledge in handling their case.
Years of experience both in and out of the courtroom, in civil and criminal cases, have given me that knowledge of legal strategies that will assist my clients to get their legal issue or case resolved, whether that be in the courtroom or in mediation.
I am a graduate of the University of Kentucky Gatton College of Business and University of Kentucky College of Law. I have been in private practice since 2001. Along with the private practice, I have held many positions at the same time that have allowed my experience to quickly grow and expand in several areas of the law.
I am a former public defender, former assistant county attorney, and Grant County Master Commissioner. I represent the cities of Crittenden and Corinth. I am licensed in both state and federal courts.
As a young person growing up, I also learned the importance of being a part of one’s community, whether that means participating in your local church or school activities, volunteering at nursing homes and animal shelters, giving your time and energy for charitable fundraisers, or simply supporting a neighbor in their time of need.
This helps give you insight in the feelings, needs, and issues important to your community. It also allows you to build a sense of connections within your community and sometimes even learning that you can make “good” things out of “bad”, in other words the best out of a bad situation.
This is sometimes necessary in the practice of law, because most clients do not need the services of an attorney unless something “bad” has happened in their lives. As the saying goes, making lemonade out of lemons is an integral part of an attorney’s job.
Because being a part of the community and serving it accordingly is important to me, I have served and continue to serve on several boards including Grant County Extension District Board (secretary), Holly Hill Children’s Home Services (secretary), Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, Grant County Vision Quest, and Williamstown Kiwanis (past president).
These organizations also represent the family values that are such an important part of my life, and assist me in carrying out my motto to treat clients as I would be want to be treated. I am a daughter, sister, wife, and mother. I understand every client is unique and although the legal issues affecting them may not be, the individual’s uniqueness and particular case guides the way the matter is handled and resolved.
I would appreciate the opportunity to serve you in your future legal needs.
Sincerely,
April Hollon Gatlin

Dear prospective client:
I have been a practicing attorney since October 1999. My practice areas are broad, from handling the simple drafting of a will to handling multimillion dollar class actions. Whatever issue you seek representation for I have both the experience and level of success to work towards a positive result.
The practice of law, much like many other aspects of life, has become extremely confrontational. Our legal system has always been adversarial, but today the adversarial nature has increased, in large part due to the existence of quite frankly too many lawyers.
That said, there are hundreds, if not thousands of local attorneys you could choose to have assist you during your time of crisis. I realize your choices are vast, but few if any, can offer the level of service and success to properly advance your interests.
No matter your issue, I can assure you that I will zealously represent your interests. I have a proven track record that few attorneys can match. Your representation is not limited, at our firm, each of the lawyers work each case both individually and as a group, to insure not rock is left unturned.
I hope that you will call or email, and provide me an opportunity to assist you in your time of need.
Sincerely,
Brandon N. Voelker
